Supplementary Scriptures

Psalm 23:1–3 (NIV)
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Father, thank You that Jesus came to give me more than rescue—He came to give me life in its fullness. Help me to stop defining abundance by what I have and begin measuring it by how closely I walk with You. Amen.

The Shepherd Who Found You
John 10:3–4 (NIV)
3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.

34 To this they replied, “You were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us!” And they threw him out.
Spiritual Blindness
35 Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
36 “Who is he, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in him.”
37 Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”
38 Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.
Ezekiel 34:15–16 (NIV)
15 I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord. 16 I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.
Lord Jesus, thank You for never abandoning those the world overlooks. When rejection tempts me to believe I have no place, remind me that You know my name and still call me Your own. Help me to follow Your voice above every other voice. Amen.

John 9:39–41 (NIV)
39 Jesus said,[a] “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.”

41 Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.
Lord Jesus, remove every blindness that keeps me from seeing You clearly. Give me a heart that welcomes Your truth, responds to Your light, and worships You for who You truly are. Amen.

Walking in the Light
John 8:12 (NIV)
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Supplementary Scriptures
John 12:35–36 (NIV)
35 Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. 36 Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.
1 John 1:7 (NIV)
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[a] sin.
Lord Jesus, keep me from choosing my own path while asking You to bless it. Teach me to follow You daily, obey Your Word, and remain in Your light. Let my life reflect the One I follow. Amen.

Supplementary Scriptures
John 1:4–5 (NIV)

“It is too small a thing for you to be my servant
to restore the tribes of Jacob
and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,
that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”
Father, thank You for sending Jesus as the everlasting Light. Help me to stop placing my hope in things that fade and to walk each day in the unchanging light of Your Son. When my circumstances grow dark, remind me that Your light has never gone out. Amen.

Exposed by Grace
John 8:12 (NIV)
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Supplementary Scriptures
John 8:1–11 (NIV)
1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 “No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)
God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Lord Jesus, shine Your light into every hidden place of my heart. Give me the humility to receive Your conviction without running from Your presence. Thank You that Your grace is greater than my guilt and Your truth leads me into freedom. Amen.
